Artist Statement

How does human identity develop and evolve towards a technology-embodied future?

The central theme of my artistic practice has always evolved around the topic of identity, biopolitics, and surveillance capitalism. Specifically, my personal research uses a theoretical process studying the historical and cultural development of different layers of human identities under socio-economic, bio-chemical, and media-representational interferences and augmentations. My work is deeply driven by the current zeitgeist within the larger socio-political environment and new forms of interpersonal relations, and is therefore also looking into the timely effects of identity as it gradually overloads under the new digital reality and a future of posthuman enhancements that we are heading towards.

It is my intention to give agency back to contemporary identities.
